![]() When Rahu is favorable to someone, Ketu is destructive and unfavorable, and vice-versa. But the effects of Rahu and Ketu together on a person are usually of a mixed nature. Rahu mainly affects the mind while Ketu affects the body. Like Rahu it also destroys one's ability to reason and makes one ruled by their instincts like an animal. It brings negative karmic seeds to fruition quickly which can be quite painful at times. In its attempt to turn us to a pathway of spirituality Ketu will often put blocks in our lives, especially when it comes to fulfilling our material desires. Ketu and Rahu are 180 degrees apart from one another, Rahu being mainly responsible for solar eclipses and Ketu for lunar eclipses. It bestows psychic abilities, the knowledge of healing, and the ability to cure people of demonic and spirit possession. It brings a desire towards spirituality and the knowledge of the self. In Vedic Astrology it is called "moksha-karak", a force that moves one towards enlightenment and liberation. While Rahu gives its natives a drive towards hedonism and acquisition, Ketu bestows upon them an inspiration towards asceticism and non-attachment to worldly desires. Infact in some ways Ketu is the direct opposite of Rahu in its effects. The Graha "Ketu", which represents the south node of the moon, is a malefic shadow planet, but not as malefic as Rahu. ![]()
